Instead of forcing all students to adapt to one music curriculum, I employ a variety of resources in order to best meet your child's needs and preferences. Encouraging them to play material that they enjoy prevents practice from becoming a drudgery and typically triples the time a student spends at the piano.

This doesn't mean that pop, jazz, and rock are the only genres that bring music to life for a student. The study of classical music is of great value in terms of musical education and discipline ... and when presented in the correct light, can be every bit as exciting. One of my goals is to provide your child with the opportunity to advance his or her ability through classical music.

When a student has access to a clear understanding of technique, that student can play anything from High School Musical to Haydn. I will teach your child the technique that will allow him or her to reach goals without the usual limitations of poor alignment and tension. With proper technique, a student can develop the confidence needed to approach any piece of music.

Music lessons shouldn't be a dreaded experience that leaves your child drained or bored. Lessons should both educate and motivate. My goal is to provide a situation in which your child is looking forward to the next week's lesson, not dragging their feet in and out the door!
